The program complex arose from program HDD.EXE which was created in 1998. At that time in the market of HDD repair software there aren?t any programs enabling to repair high percentage of HDD.

In small towns number of HDD which were to be repaired was few. Percent of successful repair was also low. And so HDD repairing was of no use because of losses incurring. Any program enabling to solve this problem had to be created. At the same time the group of programmers purposing creation of software like this was arisen.

The first results were as simplest DOS-utilities. But DOS abilities didn?t enable to create any complete high-quality product. First in case of DOS using you can?t overstep the limit of 640 K. Secondly none of DOS programs have got as easy interface as WINDOWS programs.

And so at the end of 1999 the first versions of the utility for WINDOWS appeared. Program speed was as high as DOS-applications speed. Besides, users estimated interface serviceability at its true value.

Program structure was based on conception of self-education. So, each researcher could configurate the program proceeding from his need without changing of the executable file. Programmers had to enter only new algorithms and dialog-boxes. Every user could enter any new parameters by means of initialization files.

The program allows you both repairing and also researching. You can view and change any section of main memory or buffer memory. You can also research ATA-commands, use service area modules by means of both the program and external editors created by yourself, for example.

These program properties enabled all repairers to learn anything new and exchange experience. Besides, that enables to enter algorithms which were not jet embedded in the program.

Constant researching caused helper creation. You needn?t remember all ATA-commands but only select the command from the list. If you find out a new command you should put it to the list. Now meaning of some SMART Vendor-Specific attributes are unknown. The program defines them with the help of external list. As you find out any attribute meaning as you can put it to your list. The program will decode it with others.
