This system is based on HDD.EXE kernel and using of PCI dedicated controller.
This controller is faster, than bus ISA. Besides, this controller allows you to prevent
damage of mother board in case of bad HDD connection.
The program works under OS WINDOWS XP on the basis of multithreading. Therefore you
can not only work with several HDD at the same time but also run several program instances.
Because of separate license you can always buy additional utilities and you needn?t any hardware
changes.
Some controller modes have got hardware function. That speeds up and enhances testing.
Configuration of main program parameters are fulfilled through text initialization files and,
therefore, there is program ability for self-learning.

Testing, reading and writing can be executed in various translations (LCHS, LBA, PCHS, PBA).
You can define test limits for every mode. If bad sectors are disposed in any small area you
needn?t test HDD entirely.

Visual defect control.
The circle shows the disk. Its every zone is selected by grey level.
Color triangles show defects on various heads.
By means of the diagram you can find out radial scratches, dynamic of defects
distribution on the surface.

Advanced system of surface testing.
By means of servo mark test you can test servo marks. Servo mark
test doesn?t destroy information.
Defects found during testing in logical parameters can be transformed to physical
and hidden in P-LIST (factory defect-list).

There is option of batch test running.
You can define a tests sequence for any HDD and leave it without your control for a long time.
When this tests sequence is executed you must do intelligent part of repair.
Logging of found defects can be kept during testing in order in case of power off
to know what tests were executed and what defects were found.

Easy work with defect-list.
There is defect-lists export to the text file and their import, interactive defect-lists
addition/deleting, grouping of sector defects to track defects. Embedded conception allows
you to transfer defects from one defect-list to another defect-list. You can also look at defects
distribution on heads and zones.
There is HDD re-switching by means of software. The program re-calculates the current HDD parameters
and if it is possible saves adaptive parameters and other important information. You can not only
decrease number of heads but also re-calculate HDD zone density. Any heads including the system heads (0 and 1)
can be disabled. You can create such models which even IBM didn?t produce (for example,
DTLA with 9 physical heads).

Easy work with service information.
You can save service area modules to files and archives and quickly read modules from badly damaged
surfaces. Format of archive modules (BLA) file allows you to create various modules set for quick
HDD repair, data recovery and so forth.

You can save and load service area in various formats depending on your need.
You can also read and write NVRAM in various formats.
The program allows you to repair not only HDD having a lot of bad sectors but also many
other HDD with various damages.
There are features for data recovery simplification in the program.
It is also possible to read any section of RAM, ROM or buffer memory.

HDD data acquisition is based on script language disposed in the initialization file.
You can enter new parameters just as IBM documents these parameters or you find them in other
way. You needn?t change program code for this operation.

There is easy environment for researching into various ATA-commands or executing of various
sequences which aren?t embedded in the program. You can set and add help string for command formats
through the initialization file.

Advanced SMART monitoring allows you not only to look at standard attribute values but also to look
through physical values of these attributes, to execute SMART tests, look through SMART logs and so forth.
The main purpose of complex HDD Repair Tool is HDD repair. But sometimes lost information is of more
importance for user than HDD itself. Two dialog-boxes designed for data recovery ease are embedded in the standard
version. But on the wholly these dialog-boxes are dialog-box subset of separate complex HDD Repair Tool
(Data Recovery Edition) designed for data recovery but not for HDD repair.

Typical method of data recovery is data copying from the unstable HDD to any good and following
recovery of file structure on this good HDD. The other necessary operation is disk section saving
to the file for researching or as a reserve copy before attempts of immediate changes
entering to the disk.
Standard version of HDD Repair Tool supports only this data recovery method (reading and following writing).

For saving of information about every recovered HDD you can log. If HDD serial number there is in the
log the alert message will be displayed. You can define message text by yourself and enter some defined parameters
(HDD name, current data and so forth) to the message text.
